Sun, gastronomy, cultural heritage, recreational activities in the street, beaches and sea. Barcelona received more than 14 million tourists in 2017. Visitors and residents enjoy an open, welcoming city that works to be a good host, but at the same time promotes and asks for respect, the civic and educated behavior of its residents, visitors and tourists. The Barcelona City Council, neighborhood associations and the Hotel Guild, among others, ask for silence at night, cleanliness in the streets and beaches, and respectful attitudes towards others. Surely more resources are needed, but the most important thing is the attitude of each citizen. #B Compartim Barcelona is the motto of a city that loves you and asks for respect.

#B Compartim Barcelona is a motto promoted by the Barcelona City Council, it is a way of understanding the city, a demanding proposal that whispers and shouts: "Barcelona belongs to everyone because it belongs to no one. We have the right to enjoy it, in coexistence, with respect and joy. Live it and let it live!"

PUBLIC SPACE Live and let live. May your freedom not restrict that of others. Public spaces are for everyone, and one use preventing another use is unfair. Let's look around us to avoid bothering others.

URBAN FURNITURE The city's furniture is our furniture. Let's take care of it. Urban furniture belongs to everyone. Dirtying and painting a bench, breaking trash cans or sticking stickers on lampposts and traffic lights is shooting yourself in the foot.

TAKE OUT THE TRASH There are narrow streets that make it difficult to use containers; that's why some residents have to take their trash bags to the street. But, if we take them out at the wrong time, they get dirty and smell bad, in addition to attracting bugs... For the common good, let's comply with the established schedule.

HI, TOURIST! There are areas of Barcelona through which many tourists pass, often affecting the daily lives of its inhabitants. Barcelonans claim their space and their rhythm of life.

Campaigns for civility

The Barcelona City Council has always promoted awareness campaigns to share the values of a responsible city based on the good use of public space, mutual respect, and promotes the collective, respectful, and co-responsible enjoyment of the city.

Thus, it seeks to raise awareness among both Barcelona citizens and its visitors about the importance of maintaining attitudes that foster good coexistence, safety, and sustainability, and to communicate more specific messages aimed at influencing excessive nighttime noise -spaces with very high influx of tourism and visitors-, cleanliness -and the proper use of waste collection elements-, the safety and cleanliness of beaches, and finally, the collection of dog feces and cleaning of dog urine.
