Barcelona has climbed to sixth position in the ranking of the most attractive European cities for investment in 2023, three places higher than the previous year, according to a survey prepared by real estate consultancy CBRE. The Catalan capital entered the list for the first time in 2022, ranking ninth.

This year, the city has achieved sixth position, tied with Lisbon and ahead of Copenhagen, Warsaw, and Frankfurt. London and Paris have consolidated their leadership as the most attractive cities for investment, with a substantial difference compared to the third place, Amsterdam. Berlin has also maintained its fourth position, followed by Madrid, which climbs positions compared to 2022.

During 2022, Barcelona attracted 3.6 billion euros in investment and consolidated the trend since 2019, when the 3 billion euro threshold was surpassed. In general terms, Spain has positioned itself as the fourth most attractive country for European investors in 2023, three positions higher than the previous year. The United Kingdom has achieved first place, followed by Germany and France, reports ACN.

In a context of macroeconomic uncertainty, investors maintain relatively good prospects for 2023. Half expect investment activity to remain stable or increase throughout the year.

By sectors, offices remain the segment that generates the most interest in Europe in an increasingly consolidated return-to-office context. Specifically, according to CBRE, 29% of European investors opt for offices, 25% for residential, and 23% for industrial and logistics.
