Banco Sabadell has made official its commitment to renew for three more years as the main sponsor of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Trofeo Conde de Godó, as already reported by The New Barcelona Post on October 7. The entity has sponsored this key sporting event for the city since 2008, so the agreement reached with the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona means extending the relationship to 17 years, making this sponsorship the longest-lasting in the history of the event.

According to the bank chaired by Josep Oliu, this renewal of trust comes "after some very complicated years due to the impact of the pandemic" and seeks to "provide stability and continue with the growth of the tournament" so that it becomes "a great platform for the international projection of the city of Barcelona". The club's objective is to remain with the Godó "in the elite of clay court tournaments" and be the great benchmark among ATP 500 events. In 2023, the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell will celebrate its 70th anniversary and will take place from April 15 to 23 on the RCTB-1899 courts. Tickets can be purchased starting November 30.

Among the novelties that the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell will present next year are changes in its image, with the incorporation of commemorative elements for the 70th anniversary and the launch of a new line of merchandising that will be manufactured by Mango. The Catalan textile group will debut in 2023 as a technical sponsor of the Godó, which means it will be responsible for dressing all tournament staff, including all ball boys, line judges, and chair judges who participate in it and are present on the playing courts. Mango will also dress all members of the organization, replacing Lacoste.

"We feel identified with the values of tennis, and that is why we renew our trust in this sponsorship for three more years," said Josep Oliu. According to the president of Sabadell, "it is a tournament of national and international projection that has become a meeting point with Catalan society, clients, and collaborators."

For his part, the president of the RCTB, Jordi Cambra, highlighted that "extending the alliance with Banco Sabadell is great news for the tournament," as it "will allow us to continue with the growth path we have set." "After more than 14 years of relationship, both the bank and the tournament have integrated a work philosophy that goes in the same direction and is key to staying in the elite of clay court tournaments," he pointed out.

In the same vein, the CEO of Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell, Xavier Pujol, expressed his gratitude "for the bank's commitment" to the tournament. "This renewal represents a fundamental boost to continue positioning the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell as one of the most prestigious on our circuit," he concluded.
