Fundació Arrels, Mago Pop and Amics de La Rambla members Enric Nogueras and Josep Maria Bilurbina are now Ramblistes d'Honor. The four award winners collected the prize awarded by Amics de La Rambla this Tuesday. They did so at an event in the Saló de Cent of the Barcelona City Council. This awards ceremony marked the end of the celebration of the Festa del Roser, organized by the association to encourage Barcelonians to enjoy their most universal avenue.
Fundació Arrels has been awarded in recognition of its work of accompanying homeless people, as well as for raising awareness in society and giving visibility to this problem. The awards ceremony was presided over by the councilor of the Ciutat Vella district, Albert Batlle, accompanied by the president of Amics de La Rambla, Fermín Villar. The mayor, Jaume Collboni, was scheduled to preside over the event, but finally participated telematically for health reasons.
For his part, Antonio Díaz, artistically known as Mago Pop, has been recognized for his career and his entrepreneurial work. Amics de La Rambla, which has been awarding these prizes since 1961, considers that the magician from Badia del Vallès has contributed to revitalizing Paral·lel avenue and giving visibility to Barcelona on a global scale.
In addition, the association's Board of Directors wanted to recognize the entity's member Enric Nogueras. The newly named Ramblista d'Honor has been a member of the association since the early 1980s, and Amics de La Rambla has praised his vocation and dedication to the entity and his commitment to this Barcelona artery. It has also recognized Josep Maria Bilurbina as a historical member of the association, in recognition of his dedication and his connection to La Rambla.
