Ametller Origen has intensified this year the bond with its clients and with its social commitment thanks to the organization of the first solidarity Christmas dinner, an event held this Thursday night at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona with which 20,000 euros have been raised. This money will be entirely allocated to La Marató, which this year is dedicated to the research of cardiovascular diseases and to improving the life expectancy of affected people.

More than 600 people participated in the solidarity initiative at the Maritime Museum of Barcelona.

More than 600 people participated in this solidarity evening, which was attended by prominent chefs such as Nandu Jubany, Carme Ruscalleda, Ada Parellada, Hideki Matsuhisa, and Vicent Guimerà, in addition to pastry chef Oriol Balaguer. Ametller Origen put tickets for the dinner on sale through its website, managing to sell out quickly in just five days thanks to the commitment shown by its clients.

"We are very satisfied with the great reception the dinner has had and we want to thank all the people who accompanied us this Thursday, for contributing their grain of sand in the fight against cardiovascular diseases," highlighted Josep Ametller, CEO and co-founder of Ametller Origen. "Once again we have shown that we are unstoppable and that together we can change the world," added the businessman, assuring that "it is a pride to have such committed clients."

A Grup Vocal was in charge of musically enlivening the party.

The impressive stone arches of Barcelona's emblematic shipyards welcomed the diners, who, seated at dozens of round tables decorated with Christmas motifs, were very attentive to everything that was happening on a stage that had Òscar Dalmau as master of ceremonies. The night was enlivened by the musical performances of the group A Grup Vocal, finalist of the television contest Oh Happy Day. Between courses, Dalmau brought different volunteers onto the stage to make them participate in unexpected tests and contests, with a stellar moment starring chef Nandu Jubany, who was key to enlivening the party.

Jubany did not tire of singing the praises of his new spinach cannelloni with raisins and pine nuts, one of the star dishes of the charity dinner and which will be available this Christmas in Ametller Origen stores. During the dinner, other typical Christmas creations made with the brand's products could be tasted. Likewise, Oriol Balaguer presented his new dark chocolate and raspberry panettone, created exclusively for Ametller Origen and which can now be purchased in all its stores and in the online store.

This dinner is not the only action that Ametller Origen has carried out to join the hundreds of initiatives that are being done throughout Catalonia to support La Marató. Last Sunday, November 13, the food chain organized the I Charity Walk Directe al cor, in which more than 1,000 people participated, who completed an eleven-kilometer route through different points of the municipality of Gelida, in Alt Penedès.

According to the company, supporting this year's La Marató is in line with its purpose of promoting a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle through nutritious, pleasurable, and clean eating. "It is proven that healthy lifestyle habits such as good nutrition, based on the Mediterranean diet, good rest and regular physical exercise, as well as prevention tools aimed at healthy young people and the at-risk population are very useful for reducing the incidence of these diseases," points out Ametller Origen.

This year La Marató is dedicated to research into cardiovascular diseases and improving the life expectancy of affected people
The director of the La Marató Foundation, Lluís Bernabé, who participated in the charity dinner through a video, confirms the importance of "raising funds for research, to be able to improve the quality and life expectancy of people with cardiovascular health problems, since it is the leading cause of death in developed countries". "Every day, unfortunately, 45 people die in Catalonia from these diseases, a serious problem that affects us all," he warns. The 31st edition of La Marató deTV3andCatalunya Ràdiowill take place next Sunday, December 18.

Both solidarity activities have counted on the collaboration of Juvé & Camps, Flax & Kale, Biocop, Mitjans, Coliflow, Heura, Cafès Novell, Yo Soy, Fruit Friends, Noel, Panet, Simón Coll, Damm, Obrador Sorribas, Torrons Vicens, Il Forteto, Beemster and Le Gruyère.
