"I am pleased to announce that the board of directors has agreed to the appointment of Gianfranco Nazzi, who possesses recognized leadership in the pharmaceutical industry and brings extensive experience in key areas for Almirall's success and growth, both in the United States and Europe, as well as in emerging markets. I am sure that he will bring everything necessary to take Almirall to the next level," said the company's president, Jorge Gallardo.
Nazzi expressed excitement about joining Almirall and highlighted the company's commitment "to putting patients at the center." "I am convinced that I will be able to continue supporting them with new solutions and treatments that add value and improve the lives of these patients. I am committed to this mission and I know that, together with its team, we will achieve this great milestone in the short term," he added.
A graduate in Economic Sciences from the University of Udine (Italy), Nazzi was until now part of Teva Pharmaceuticals Industries as executive vice president of International Markets and was a member of the company's executive committee. Over the past seven years, he has held various positions of responsibility at this Israeli pharmaceutical company: he was senior vice president of Specialty Medicines in Europe, as well as president and CEO of the Emerging Markets division. Before working at Teva, Nazzi held several leadership positions at AstraZeneca, GSK, and Eli Lilly, in commercial and general management roles in the United Kingdom, Italy, Serbia, and the United States.
