The Cruïlla festival is getting closer to filling the Fòrum with music again. The next edition will be held on July 6, 7, 8 and 9. In the summer of the return to pre-pandemic habits, Cruïlla will return to its usual four-day format and without restrictions, without masks or antigen tests like last year.
A varied musical selection will translate into more than 50 performances, always accompanied by the art, dance, photography and performance program that complements the concerts. International artists of the stature of Jack White or Duran Duran will be some of the protagonists of a program with a strong local accent, with Delafé y las Flores Azules, Zahara, Tote King, Ginestà, Queralt Lahoz, Stay Homas, Rozalén, Joan Dausà, Joe Crepusculo, Buhos or Dancetería. A powerful Latin trio formed by Rubén Blades, Juan Luis Guerra and Residente will complete the festival's offering.
The return to normality will also mean returning to Cruïlla's five stages. The main one will be Estrella Damm, where some of the main artists of this edition such as Rubén Blades, Juan Luis Guerra, Duran Duran, Jack White, Residente or Hot Chip will perform.
The Cruïlla Enamora stage, complementary to Estrella Damm, will host performances by artists such as Rigoberta Bandini, Trueno, Molotov, Editors, Rozalén, Els Catarres or Sofi Tukker, among others.
In the amphitheater will be the Vueling stage, where you can enjoy performances by artists as diverse as Zahara, Meute, Danceteria, Tanxungueiras, Fat Freddys Drop, Ginestà or Joan Dausà.
This year, the Vallformosa stage, home to the Cruïlla Comedy program, will once again host live music. The program includes names such as Vintage Trouble, Sleaford Mods, Cimefunk and Buhos.
Finally, the Four Roses stage will be recovered, which, being covered, could not host activities in the last edition of the festival. Performances by emerging artists will be combined with more well-known ones. Ill Pekeño, Judeline, Marcel y Julia, Pupilas, Joe Crepúsculo, Niña Polaca, Colectivo Da Silva or Tyets will be some of those who will perform on this stage.
Cruïlla XXS
For those who cannot wait until July, they can recover the festival spirit with Cruïlla XXS. In its third edition, starting in late May, the reduced version of the festival ---conceived in the summer of 2020 to adapt to the pandemic--- will offer more than 20 concerts. This year's big novelty: a part of its program has been offered completely free of charge.
It was, specifically, on May 21 when the Old Estrella Damm Factory opened its doors to Cruïlla XXS, presenting nearly twelve hours of free music, with performances by La Ludwig Band, Xarim Aresté, Oliva Trencada ---with Joan Miquel Oliver---, Nico Miseria, Las Ninyas del Corro, Aqeelion, Carmen Xia, Chicxas Rosa, Juli Giuliani, Els Amics de Manel, Selma Bruna, Pocelam Ariox & Galgo Lento. Lal'Ba and La Tour de Carol.
The reduced version of the festival will offer more than 20 concertsIf the performances at the Old Estrella Damm Factory at Cruïlla XXS are already a classic, the cycle has added new spaces and two concerts, also free, have been included at the Glòries shopping center. On May 27, the Westfield Glòries stage was for Delafé y las Flores Azules---celebrating its 20th anniversary---,Oscar D'AnielloandHelena Miquel. The next day, it wasDavid Oterowho made it their own.
The Cruïlla XXS has also reached Poble Espanyol. Mishima has premiered this new stage, which Leiva has also passed through, who will do a double, after selling out last Saturday. The second date will be on June 10. On June 22, Wilco will perform at Poble Espanyol. Love of Lesbian will close the Cruïlla XXS on July 22, also from Poble Espanyol.
