After a long career linked to the Agbar group, Albert Martínez Lacambra has just been appointed general director of Red.es, a public entity ascribed to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation responsible for accelerating digitalization in Spain. Martínez Lacambra replaces David Cierco Jiménez de Parga, who resigned a few weeks ago from the position he had held for three years. Until now, Martínez Lacambra was the CEO of Aigües de Barcelona, the mixed company for water cycle management controlled by Agbar and participated by the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (15%) and CriteriaCaixa (15%).
Red.es points out that Martínez Lacambra has extensive experience in financial and team management, both in the private and public sectors, as well as in the national and international entrepreneurial world, "always closely linked to the digital transformation of the companies he has led." It also highlights that Martínez Lacambra is "a great promoter of public-private collaboration, key in the current and future management" of the public entity.
With a degree in Economic and Business Sciences from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and in Law from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC), Martínez Lacambra has also been general director of Agbar in Catalonia and CEO of Aquagest Services Company, the company that managed information system technologies and supply chain for the group's companies. He also participated in the management of the Institut Metropolità de Promoció del Sòl i Gestió Patrimonial (Impsol).
"Martínez Lacambra joins at a time of great prominence for the entity, due to the increase in budget and activity that it will have to manage, with the deployment of investments linked to the funds of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain," states Red.es.
To accelerate digitalization, this entity designs programs to boost the digital economy, innovation, entrepreneurship, training for young people and professionals, and support for SMEs through the use of information and communication technologies (ICT). It also deploys technological implementation programs in public administration services, especially in Health, Justice, and Education, and works to promote the development of smart cities.
Felipe Campos, Martínez Lacambra's replacement at Aigües de Barcelona
The new CEO of Aigües de Barcelona will be Felipe Campos, who since November was part of its board of directors, according to Expansión. Campos was also linked to Agbar through its Advisory Council for Participation, Transparency and Social Action and its foundation.
With twenty years of experience working in the third sector, Campos combines the position of CEO at Aigües de Barcelona with that of general director of the Itaca Educational Association, focused on socio-educational intervention and community action in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. He has also presided over the Sectoral Table for Climate Emergency of the city council of this city for ten months.
