The Board of Directors of SGAB, parent company of the Agbar group, has decided to re-establish its registered office in Barcelona. This was announced by the Catalan company in a statement. In this way, Agbar becomes the first major corporation to restore its registered office in Barcelona after having changed its location last autumn due to political uncertainty. It can be expected that this decision by the corporation will open the door to new returns of registered offices of other companies that also changed their location.
On October 7, 2017, Agbar decided to move its registered office to Madrid, a measure that was then announced as temporary with the aim of preserving the legal security of investors and protecting the interests of its workers, clients, and suppliers.
Economic stability has led the Agbar Board of Directors to adopt this measure.
Agbar is a shareholder of various operators of the integrated water cycle in Catalonia that have maintained their registered office in Catalonia during this period.
"The change of registered office has had no effect on the service we provide to our clients nor has it affected planned investments, which have been executed within the foreseen deadlines, thus reaffirming the commitment that the Group historically maintains with each of our users," the company assured in its statement.
