In a particularly complicated and unpredictable context for the world of music, Acqustic has closed a financing round of 425,000 euros. This Barcelona-based startup created by Esteve Lombarte and Ferran Sáez allows artists to connect with new fans and helps independent musicians with their marketing and distribution strategies. It does so through the digital platform it manages.
The round was led by Draper B1, Lanai Partners, Tokavi, and various business angels. It also received financial support from the Institut Català de Finances (ICF). The emerging music company will use the funds obtained to consolidate its entry into Latin America and the United States.
Acqustic's platform has more than 2,000 registered artists and a catalog of over 1,000 songs. It bases its distribution strategies on agreements with major platforms such as Movistar+. In this way, some of the artists have seen their music used as a soundtrack in series such as Colgar las alas by Iker Casillas or Un país de imparables.
It also helps artists with live performances: the platform added more than 400 concerts and shows last year. Likewise, it has become a provider of musical services for establishments that work with Mahou San Miguel and Damm.
Another of the tools available to the Barcelona-based company is the distribution of songs on platforms such as Spotify or Apple Music. At the end of this quarter, it has generated 2.6 million plays on the different online platforms in which it operates.
