Christmas begins at the table. Good food is the protagonist of these days' feasts, shared with loved ones, turning each encounter into a moment of joy and celebration. To ensure the success of this Christmas gastronomic experience, renowned chefs such as Nandu Jubany, Hideki Matsuhisa, or Josep Maria Kao can help us in the kitchen thanks to the preparations they have made for Ametller Origen, which this year also offers its customers an exclusive panettone created by Oriol Balaguer, a cheesecake by Albert Adrià, and a tiramisu by La Dramerie.
When it comes to sharing, there are essentials that cannot be missed and that everyone expects at Christmas, such as ham, a selection of cheeses and cold cuts, canapés, and smoked products. In Ametller Origen stores, you can find a wide selection of ingredients to prepare these appetizers, with the possibility of also ordering ready-made cheese and cold cut platters or of opting for different Christmas starters: a selection of top-quality sushi prepared by Hideki Matsuhisa, from the Koy Shunka restaurant. The mega party box will look spectacular on the table, including salmon, tuna, avocado, prawn, and eel nigiris, as well as sashimi cuts, makis, and California rolls of different varieties, totaling 41 pieces. To give this oriental touch to Christmas meals, creations by the renowned chef Josep Maria Kao can be added, such as prawn dim sum, gyozas, or spring rolls with meat.
Among the traditional Catalan first courses, galets soup with pilota and carn d'olla cannot be missed, and for Sant Esteve, nothing better than good cannelloni, especially if they are by Nandu Jubany. This year, the renowned chef from Osona has created for Ametller Origen stores the first cannelloni made with fresh spinach from the company's fields, also accompanied by raisins and pine nuts.
Between December 21 and 24, Ametller Origen and Nandu Jubany also offer their customers truffle Christmas cannelloni with free-range chicken, with limited units that can only be purchased through the online store or through the click & collect service. And it is essential not to forget to also bring Nandu's croquettes to the table, always crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, whether they are ham, mushroom, chicken, roast, shrimp or eggplant with cheese.
To prepare the galets soup, Ametller Origen makes things as easy as possible thanks to proposals such as Christmas broth, trays of meat-filled galets or mini pork and beef meatballs. Another highly recommended option is the 100% natural seafood cream. In the butchery section, the options for preparing the main course multiply, with fillings as the great specialty of the house. Chicken filling, lamb leg, beef or pork with pineapple are just a few examples. We also find multiple already cooked dishes to save time, such as roasted chicken with prunes and pine nuts, Catalan-style roasted free-range chicken, beef fillet with mushrooms and duck leg with prunes and pine nuts.
Many especially enjoy Christmas meals when it's time for dessert, toasts and the long after-dinner conversation. To accompany the traditional turrones and wafers and cava, the renowned pastry chef Oriol Balaguer has created this year an artisanal chocolate and raspberry panettone that is only available at Ametller Origen.
Another perfect ending to Christmas meals is the cheesecake by chef Albert Adrià, owner of the Michelin-starred Enigma restaurant in Barcelona, or the tiramisu made by La Dramerie, from former MasterChef contestants Sofia Janer and Víctor Gonzalo.
With all these succulent proposals, now all that's left is to enjoy them. Merry Christmas!
