A platform that converts neighborhood stores into collection points for online orders; a system that observes in real time what happens within a fleet of autonomous robots; a protocol that links physical objects to blockchain accounts using NFC technology. These are some of the proposals that have just entered the Logistics 4.0 Incubator, the incubator for technological projects called to transform logistics, from the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona.

With them, the program adds 19 new startups and strengthens an ecosystem that, in less than three years, has incubated 79 projects. Since its launch in July 2023, it maintains a survival rate of 91.3% among participating companies, and currently hosts 44 active startups, at various stages of development. Some of them already exceed five million euros in turnover, others have workforces of more than 60 employees or have reached a hundred clients. In total, they add up to 530 employees, are close to 700 clients, and a turnover of 48 million euros in 2025. For 2026, the figure is expected to rise to 72 million.

Incorporating 19 new startups into this ecosystem "demonstrates the maturity and attractiveness of the Logistics 4.0 Incubator, as a real growth environment for innovative projects," highlighted the consortium's general director, Blanca Sorigué. "We are seeing how incubated startups validate, scale, and compete in the market with applicable solutions and with impact," with emerging technologies linked to the supply chain, from robotics applied to automated warehouses to the Internet of Things, data analysis, or the last mile associated with e-commerce, including 3D printing, AI, and green logistics.

"Logistics is about making products and services arrive where they need to be, when they are needed, and today it is more strategic than ever," emphasized the executive president of the CZFB, Pere Navarro, at an event to formalize the welcome of the 19 new startups. "We are living in a moment where digitalization, artificial intelligence, and sustainability are transforming everything, including our cities and our way of living and working."

This transformation of cities will be done hand in hand with technology, with projects that share logistics as a scenario, but approach it from different layers of the supply chain. As a transversal element, digitalization to manage logistics operations is the focus of startups like Avanzza or Logistics WMS, which moves warehouse management to the cloud with AI support. Go!Planner and Zenitram Operations also focus on facilitating management with digital tools, which will now be boosted from the incubator.

AI and data-driven process optimization are the focus of other new additions to Logistics 4.0, such as Fluxo, which uses advanced machine learning algorithms, Bluepoint AI, OCR-Genius, and Insaion, which is responsible for analyzing the operation of fleets of autonomous robots.

New distribution networks

The final delivery of last mileis one of the great protagonists of the incubator. Dropick proposes to deliver shipments through local businesses converted into collection points, while Kamport optimizes delivery with real-time tracking and integration with operators, and Orbislink proposes sharing unused logistics capacity between companies. For its part, Multidepot combines flexible warehouses with last-mile services and workspaces, while Maskay Logistics connects SMEs with logistics providers according to their needs.

Automation is also key for the sector, with initiatives such as MAR Technologies 5.0, Kerys and DGAnywhere, which focuses on remote validation of dangerous goods in accordance with international regulations. But the new startups that are growing in the ecosystem go further, with initiatives such as IADrivers, which addresses the lack of specialized drivers with an AI training program; Onsafra, which operates as a commercial and operational partner for emerging brands, or BlueGreen Vision, which develops solutions for the regeneration of marine ecosystems in port environments.

Thus, the logistics of the future will pivot around the digitalization and automation of processes, but not only that: it encompasses everything from technological infrastructure to sustainability. And all this innovation is to be promoted from the incubator, to provide technology to each link of the value chain, to facilitate processes and promote competitiveness.
