The objective of a venture builder like 5G Ventures is to identify innovative projects to co-create startups hand in hand with the research centers and entrepreneurs who lead them, in addition to investing in them and accompanying them in their growth and market development. Based in Barcelona, 5G Ventures is the first venture builder in Europe exclusively dedicated to creating startups for the 5G ecosystem and is led by Alberto Villalobos.

The vehicle plans to raise five million euros to boost six technology startups in the next three years. With the support of 101 Ventures, a venture builder specialized in building technology-based companies to digitize business processes in traditional sectors, 5G Ventures has already created its first startup, Neutroon, which aims to democratize access to 5G technology in industry through the use of private networks and the acceleration of its digital transformation.
In addition to 101 Ventures, 5G Ventures has the support of other investors and entrepreneurs from Barcelona's technology ecosystem, such as the Four Thoughts group and the CEO of Worldsensing, Ignasi Visajosana. Experts such as former Telefónica Alpha CEO Pablo Rodríguez, King's College London professor Mischa Dohler, and the Director of Technology and Innovation at the i2CAT foundation, Sergi Figuerola, also reinforce the initiative.
