Switzerland, the USA, Singapore, Netherlands and Germany are amongst the top five countries in terms of competitiveness 2017-2018 (Global Competitiveness Index) conducted by the World Economic Forum (WEF).
The next ten best performers on this prestigious list are, in this order, Hong Kong, Sweden, the UK, Japan and Finland. Spain holds the 34th position on this list.
The WEF Report alerts that, ten years on from the global financial crisis, “the prospects for a sustained economic recovery remain at risk due to a widespread failure on the part of leaders and policy-makers to put in place reforms necessary to underpin competitiveness and bring about much-needed increases in productivity”.
The Global Competitiveness Index 2017-2018 makes an in-depth analysis of a total of 137 world economies.
