The best MBA in the world in 2018 according to ‘The Economist’

The IESE business school of the University of Navarra offers the sixth best MBA in the world and the best in Europe according to the annual ranking for 2018 published recently by The Economist.

The top five positions in this international ranking on business schools are held by universities in the United States. The leader this year is the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, followed by the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Harvard Business School. In fourth place is the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, while the fifth is for the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.

Among the 20 first MBA programs in the world there are three Europeans. In addition to the IESE, in the 13th place appears the HEC School of Management in Paris, in the 18th the MBA of the British Warwick Business School and in the 19th the French INSEAD.

Three other Spanish business schools appear in the ranking of the 100 best MBAs in the world. This is ESADE (ranked 46), IE (63) and EADA (100).

The study by The Economist of the best MBA programs in the world offers information about the new average salary obtained by graduates at the end of the program and the percentage increase over the salary they had before taking it. It also indicates the percentage of graduates who have found work after three months.

Other comparative data offered by The Economist ranking are the cost of the MBA and its duration in months. In 16 of the top 20 programs in the ranking, the price is above $ 100,000. Additionally, the average years of work experience of the students who take the MBA are indicated.

The ranking is based on surveys carried out on current and graduate students of the MBA programs, on the data provided by the schools and on the results obtained in previous editions of the study. The Economist takes into account aspects related to the generation of new professional opportunities, personal development and educational experience, the improvement of salaries and the potential of the network of contacts.
