Brief description of company and business model
Transparency, flexibility and fun are part of today’s DNA of hoy-voy. The driving school network serves more than 16,000 students a year and has a team of more than 250 people and with a fleet of 110 cars of the MINI brand that incorporate an iPad where the teacher records the evolution of the ” student step by step. In addition, an innovative learning system with dynamic classes, intensive courses and an application for on-line tests make most students pass on the first. In almost 7 years since its foundation, the company has trained more than 37,000 students, with an index of 90% passed in the theoretical examination among students who follow their method and has done more than 760,000 practical calsses, adapting fees and schedules to the demand and availability of schedules and teachers.
hoy-voy also suppose a revolution in terms of pricing policy, with a dynamic rate model similar to the one that is standardized in airlines that allows students who do not approve do not pay, without this assuming renouncing quality , thanks to our academic method.
We feel very identified with technology, creativity and curiosity to learn new things. We are not satisfied with giving a good service, we want it to be the best. For this reason, we work permanently thinking about what we can improve and we strive to achieve this. We do not understand our work without passion. Passion for our students, for what we do and for all that we will do.
hoy-voy method: If you do not approve we return the money: For theoretician, students must attend our intensive 8×3 course. 8 days, 3 hours a day, for 2 weeks. If you attend all classes, practice our test system (Inteli.test) with a minimum of 133 tests and get a level of 5/10, Hoy-voy guarantee the approved. And if doing this you do not approve of the first one, we will return the money.

Carlos Duran: founding partner & CEO. This is my eighth business project. In 2001 I created Imaginalia, a web design agency, with offices in Barcelona and Madrid; Another project was Doggy Talky, an app for dog owners that many called the whatsapp of dogs.
Jordi López: founding partner & CEO. He was a driving school teacher.

Main goals achieved
hoy-voy was born in January 2012 and in this time we have taught to lead more than 37,000 students. Of these, 74% have approved the first file. In the case of the theorists, the figures are even stronger and the pass rate is 90% among students who follow our method.
They have been very intense years in which what we have done and what we wanted to do has not much to do. We wanted to create a different driving school, based on a low cost model with dynamic rates. We opened in Barcelona with the idea of having 300 or 400 students per year and we found that our way of working generated more demand. Two professors proposed us to open a driving school in Granollers and we began to test the possibility of opening more centers in a franchise model. In the coming weeks we will arrive at 25 and we continue to grow!
Another milestone has been the expansion outside Catalonia. In 2017 we opened centers in Valladolid, Castellón, Madrid and Palma de Mallorca and before finishing the year we will be in four more cities: Murcia, Pamplona, Santander and Zaragoza.
Main challenges in the future
Our idea is to continue growing and consolidating the model adapting it to the different peculiarities of the cities in which we are installing. In the short term, we have five more openings planned before the end of the year and we will arrive at 29. Our idea is to open between 50 and 60 more driving schools during the next four or five years, while diversifying the activity with new models of deal.
Why did you choose to establish the company in Barcelona?
The two founding partners live in Barcelona and therefore, naturally, and knowing the market, Barcelona became the city where our first driving school was born. In addition, in Barcelona we have the headquarters of the master franchise, where we work a team of 35 people.

Inspiration? A model, company or business person/entrepreneur?
- At first, we incorporated some elements of companies such as Vueling and Easyjet, especially with regard to the models of tariff calculation algorithms but over time we have incorporated many variables resulting from our own experience.

What else would you like Barcelona to offer?
It would be very interesting if access to work space (offices and / or coworking), especially for start-up companies, were more affordable. In the same way, access to housing within the city is becoming more complicated, any initiative in this direction I think would help to have more and better companies, especially young entrepreneurs.
